Cadiz — Spain

Cadiz is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Western Europe, with cultural imprints just as diverse as the city itself. The historical and cultural legacy of the city, combined with the naked beaches and an exquisite regional cuisine, makes it one of the best places to spend your holidays in the whole of Western Europe.

Catedral de Cádiz: The Catedral de Cádiz, also known as the “Cathedral of the Holy Cross over the Waters”, is a prominent and historically significant landmark in Cádiz, southern Spain. The cathedral showcases a blend of architectural styles, primarily Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical, reflecting the long period of its construction.

Torre Tavira: Torre Tavira is one of the most iconic landmarks in Cádiz, Spain, offering visitors a unique perspective on the city. It's one of the many watchtowers that dot the Cádiz skyline, a testament to the city's historical importance as a major port. Being the highest point in the old city of Cádiz, the tower offers a breathtaking view of the city.

Playa de la Victoria: Playa de la Victoria is a well-regarded urban beach within the city, making it easily accessible to both locals and tourists. The beach is known for its long stretch of fine, golden sand, a prominent promenade, restaurants, bars, etc. The Playa de la Victoria is the perfect spot to enjoy the salty breeze of the ocean and some exhilarating beach sports.

Yacimiento Arqueológico Gadir: The Yacimiento Arqueológico Gadir is an archaeological site of significant historical importance. It offers a window into the ancient Phoenician settlement of Gadir, which is one of the oldest cities in Western Europe.

Cadiz is, sadly, not such a well-known destination in Europe, so much so that it mostly doesn’t make it to many itineraries. But if you’re still going for it, congratulations, you’re a true traveller!

Whether or not you’re exploring with a true local, your best option is to opt for the Cadiz hop-on hop-off bus tour. The sightseeing bus will take you to all the major tourist attractions and some offbeat spots you might never be able to explore on your own.

You can hop off the bus to explore an attraction in detail and hop back on whenever you’re ready to move on with your tour.
